Munich, July 30, 2018 – The Executive Board of IDG Communications Media AG in Munich, York of Heimburg, reorganizes the management structure of IDG Germany with effect from October 1, 2018. Around nine months after his appointment as President International IDG Communications (IDGC), he hands over IDG Germany’s management to his senior management colleagues, who have been successful for years. “In this way, we continue to focus on innovation and customer focus, it gives me the time to focus even more on my international responsibilities and to be able to realize the growth plans in all the exciting regions outside the US,” said Heimburg.
As of October, Michael Beilfuss, 48, Senior Vice President International Events, will be responsible for IDG’s international event business outside the US. After about 14 years with IDG Germany, Beifuss changes to an international management position at the IDG Group. In its new role, Beilfuß will continue to be responsible for and expanding the local event business in Germany. With the creation of the new position of Senior Vice President International Events, for the first time a transnational event strategy for the more than 800 IDG specialist events per year will be developed and implemented with the involvement of local business units and numerous licensees. He reports to York of Heimburg. In addition to the operational leadership of various publishing divisions such as IDG Business Media GmbH, IDG TechNetwork and, at times, IDG Tech Media GmbH, Michael Beilfuß has been a major driver in the development of new, innovative business areas and services.
Jonas Triebel, 36, already Chief Operations Officer and Chief Product Officer of IDG Germany since 2015, will assume the role of Managing Director in Germany in the future and will be responsible for the entire operative business of the media brands operating in Germany. With the new position, Triebel will also be part of the global network of IDG Managing Directors, who are actively involved in the further development of the global corporate strategy in the relevant country markets and jointly develop new business and revenue models to expand their respective competitive position. Political scientist Triebel began his career at IDG in 2002 as a trainee in the publishing business. From 2004 to 2009, he was Event Manager and then expanded and expanded the Database Operations Department until 2012. From 2012 to 2015, he was responsible for the business of IDG Tech Media GmbH as publishing director. In addition, Triebel is one of the two spokespersons of the VDZ Steering Committee Digital Media.
With another personnel decision, IDG Communications Media AG bundles the responsibility for technology and operational business. Stefan Huegel, 48, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of IDG Communications Media AG since 2016, will also serve as Chief Operating Officer (COO) in Germany from October. In his new role, Huegel is responsible for Customer Success & Custom Services, Data Strategy, Product Management and Operations and reports to Managing Director Jonas Triebel. With overall responsibility for the company’s technological focus, Huegel has also been a member of the Group’s Global Technology Board since the beginning of this year. Huegel joined IDG in 2007 and, in addition to his CTO responsibilities, has been senior vice president of IDG’s content marketing services for the Central and East Europe region.
