Food bank hires new CEO

TULSA – Calvin A. Moore will assume the role of president and CEO of the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma effective February 1, 2022, the food bank announced this week.

Moore was previously CEO of Meals on Wheels Metro Tulsa, and has worked in organizational advancement and nonprofit administration for over 20 years.

“Despite the many obstacles that persist across the country, the Food Bank continues to pursue our vision of ensuring” food security with dignity for all residents of eastern Oklahoma, “said Mercedes Millberry Fowler, President of the board of directors. ”Now we look forward to expanding our success under Calvin’s leadership.

Moore has held various leadership and advancement positions at Tulsa Community College, ORU, Boy Scouts of America, Youth At Heart, Restore Hope Ministries and others. “This transition is a continuation of my mission to help others and support their right to be free from hunger,” Moore said.

Established in 1981, the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma is a member of the Feeding America Network and is the largest private hunger relief organization in eastern Oklahoma. Last year, the association distributed 32.7 million pounds of food and produce through a network of 320 partner agencies in Washington County and 23 other counties in eastern Oklahoma.
