Learn from international business leaders at Washtenaw Community College seminars

ANN ARBOR, MI – Business owners looking for advice can learn from industry experts near and far at upcoming Washtenaw Economic Club meetings hosted by Washtenaw Community College.

This week’s club meeting features David Barfield, global head of staffing for UK group Impellam. His virtual seminar, titled “The Evolution of a Local Business to a Global Business” begins at 11 am on Thursday, September 16.

The event is free for Washtenaw Economic Club members and $ 25 for non-members. Participants can register at wccnet.edu/business/ economic-club.

Barfield and Impellam Group acquired Bartech Group Inc. in 2015 from its Ypsilanti-based family, which specializes in meeting staffing needs in the areas of accounting to manufacturing to human resources and more. He is now responsible for group development for Impellam after having been President and CEO of Bartech.

Following Thursday’s meeting, the next Washtenaw Economic Club opportunity will be on Thursday, November 4 at 11 a.m., with Albert Berriz, CEO and co-owner of local real estate agency The McKinley Companies. The subject will then be “The impact of real estate on the economy and the workforce”.

The events are sponsored by WCC, Washtenaw County, Ann Arbor SPARK, ITC Holdings, Hylant Group, Bank of Ann Arbor and Level One Bank.
